APPRENDRE A APPRENDRE EN GRAND GROUPE

Self direction seems to be a viable strategy to deal with large heterogeneous groups of learners. The experiment described here was carried out with 600 first year science students in a 30-hour EFL course. Priority was given to triggering a change of attitude in the students and making them reflect on their aptitudes and weaknesses as learners while conducting an individual project. Students responded positively to the scheme and said that the trust placed in them to select and assess their own work had increased their motivation and efficiency as learners.
