UNE EXPERIENCE D’ENSEIGNEMENT DU FLE EN ENTREPRISE : BILAN ET PERSPECTIVES

The author reports on the on-site training in FFL of British, American and Canadian employees of a company setting up in France. Having first organized traditional, teacher-driven lessons, the author was confronted with the problem of decreasing attendance. An analysis of possible causes led the author to reorganize the training into a more learner-centred and flexible system. Both systems are described and discussed as regards their effects on learners’ participation and on the teachers’ role and work. Finally, it is argued that, whatever the training system adopted, employees cannot learn the target language unless a few basic conditions are satisfied.
